Bobcaygeon is situated on three islands between Sturgeon and Pigeon Lakes with Lock 32 on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Home to the justly famous ice cream of the Kawartha Dairy and Bigley’s Shoes with its multiple stores on the main street. A Settler’s Village, beach, museum, library and public pool.
Buckhorn is a quaint, little hamlet situated at Lock 31 between Upper and Lower Buckhorn Lake. Known for their locally made wine from Kawartha Winery and their strip of popular restaurants.
Pigeon Lake is a part of the Trent Severn Waterway, it is 27 km long, up to 3 km wide and up to 56 ft deep. The lake primarily overflows into Buckhorn Lake through Gannon Narrows. This lake gives you access to five lakes without the need for locking through; Pigeon, Little Bald, BigBald, Buckhorn & Chemong Lakes. Great fishing and boating. In the northern part of Pigeon Lake is Big Island which is 1085 acres in size and is the largest undeveloped island in the Kawarthas. The island was donated to the Kawartha Land Trust in 2015 and the public is permitted to use the island for fishing, swimming, picnics, hiking, walking, cross-country skiing & other related recreation.
